Arts Award Welcome

Our Arts Award Welcome offer means that we can support young people working towards gaining their Arts Award in the following ways.

Taking Part in the Arts

NYMAZ projects and activities offer a range of opportunities for young people to take part in the arts: as performers, composers, producers and event organisers. From one-off workshops to longer-term projects working towards performances, they all offer you the chance to get involved and learn new skills.

Enjoying and Appreciating the Arts

Most of our projects and activities offer opportunities to hear professional musicians playing and to learn about, explore and discuss different types of music and different performance styles.

Volunteering and Leadership Opportunities

Some of our longer-term projects offer youth leadership opportunities. For example: working alongside project artists to lead sections of workshops and rehearsals; taking on board some organisational responsibilities in terms of co-ordinating group activities and organising events; and peer mentoring - sharing your skills with other young people.

Meeting Arts Professionals

All of our activities offer the chance to meet professional artists and talk to them about their work. We can also arrange the opportunity to meet project managers and some of the people involved in running the organisations we work with.

Showcasing Your Work

We aim to include showcase and performance opportunities in as many of our projects as possible. This could be anything from putting on a small sharing concert for family and friends, to putting on your own gig, to performing at local and regional festivals.

For more information on forthcoming projects and activities please visit our What's On section.
