Gaining Confidence with Music in the Early Years

NYMAZ welcomes Zoe Greenhalgh to deliver two linked CPD training sessions.
Dates: Wednesday 22 February & 12 April 2017, 9:30 - 12:30.
Location: Knaresborough Community Hub, Chain Lane, Knaresborough, HG5 0AS.

Gaining Confidence with Music in the Early Years aims to build the musical confidence and knowledge of Early Years Practitioners. These practical and enjoyable sessions will develop practitioner skills and knowhow, incorporating practical and group management tools, as well as plenty of discussion about what we are doing including:

  Links with holistic and musical development;
  Choosing and adapting activities for different age groups, SEN and situations;
  Working with parents;
  EYFS, continuous provision, etc.

Zoe Greenhalgh MA Ed (Early Years Music) is an independent Early Childhood Music Specialist with a wealth of experience of working in a variety of settings with babies and children, parents and educators. She also leads training workshops for practitioners in addition to her work as a British Kodály Academy Early Childhood Tutor and an Associate Tutor in Early Years Education at Edge Hill University. At present she is in the process of writing a book for Routledge Publishers; a practitioners’ guide to Singing with children in the Early Years

Due to the nature of the course, only 4 additional places are available and attendance at both sessions is essential.

This training is offered as part of the NYMAZ Early Years Music Network and is open to all those in North Yorkshire who are working with children aged 0 to 5, including music practitioners, workshop leaders, playgroup leaders, children’s centre managers and staff, childminders, and students.
