When did you last update your CV? For the majority of practitioners CV’s only tend to get updated when a job application deadline is looming!
Sometimes a CV isn’t actually the best format in which to showcase your skills… Got your own website? Or should you use a facebook page? Or linkedin? Do you belong to an active network? How do you let potential employers know about your skills?
Many music leaders and practitioners have a portfolio career – how do you develop this? Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
NYMAZ is currently offering a free hour of professional discussion which explores your current skills and qualifications and helps you to identify areas in which you would like to develop your career.
Sessions are facilitated by Deborah Welch, a Level 4 Advice and Guidance qualified mentor who specialises in music and music leading. You can discuss a variety of areas including identifying your strengths, what you enjoy, what you would like to do more of and how to develop a plan to outline ways in which to enhance your current skills and provide a step by step strategy to support your professional development
NYMAZ is currently able to offer financial support towards the cost of any training opportunities which are identified as part of your suggested career development.
This offer is supported through NYMAZ’s Musical Inclusion programme for North Yorkshire (funded by Youth Music), and is open to any music leader working in the county, with an interest in working with children in challenging circumstances.
