We are delighted to introduce our new team member, Laura. She has taken on the role of administrator and brings with her a passion for music, fantastic experience in the arts and a drive to amplify youth voice and diversify music education practice. Read more about our new recruit below.
‘I’m thrilled to be working for such a brilliant organisation. Music is my passion and where I originally started out my career so it feels good to return to a sector I care so much about. I am currently a freelance producer working across Leeds and Bradford in the live arts and heritage sectors where I coordinate an advisory group for Bradford Producing Hub and produce a young people’s heritage project called ‘Represent’ with the Geraldine Connor Foundation. I’ve joined at an exciting period for NYMAZ, where amplifying youth voice in the organisation has become an important part of its work and am keen to support the NYMAZ team on this journey. As a musician myself with a background in ethnomusicology, I’m also interested in finding ways to diversify and decolonise music education practices and opportunities. Here’s to an exciting year ahead!’
