We’re delighted to present an exciting event for young people in years 7-13. Get creative about your career at Music Industry Unmasked!
This full day event provides young people the opportunity to meet, talk and take part in a series of exciting and engaging workshops and presentations. Participants will enjoy a series of interactive workshops, inspiring presentations and have the opportunity to meet and talk with Further and Higher Education providers, explore career pathways, and current opportunities across the range of different industries!
Some of the exciting range of workshops include:
‘Exploring Sound and Composition’ with Jack McNeill – Clarinettist, Composer, and cross-discipline musician
‘Singing and the Community’ with Sam Dunkley – Director of Performing Arts etc
‘Introduction to live-music journalism’ with Dave Simpson, Music Journalist for The Guardian
‘Creating festivals and events’ with Sam Hodgson, Music Events Manager
‘DJ skills Masterclass’ with Jim Reiss, Director of DJ School Leeds
‘Starting up a festival - hints and tips’ with Sophie Cooper, Festival Director
We are offering schools the chance to book onto morning workshops, afternoon workshops, or the full day. Music Industry Unmasked is set to be a day of creative, exciting and inspiring exploration into the vast and exciting world of the Music industry. A brilliant chance to meet the professionals who work in the creative sector and discuss how to develop a career in one of the UKs largest growing industries!
A Musical Market Place will also be taking place throughout the day where participants can talk, discuss, and learn about progression routes, music opportunities near them and future career options.
NYMAZ is excited to invite young people aged 16 – 25 years with an interest in developing a career in the Music industry to our Music Industry Unmasked evening event!
An evening of interactive and inspiring presentations, live performance and Q&A sessions with those working in a range of different professions across the Music Industry.
The evening will include events such as:
Presentation and Talk from Whiskas, Director of Music: Leeds
Live performances from ‘Maia’ with Q&A – Leeds based funk band
The Tappy Lappy Trio - Folk trio based in Newcastle
Presentation, Q&A with Jack McNeill, Clarinettist, Composer and cross-discipline musician.
Musical Market Place – including representatives from Universities, Colleges, Recording Studios, Festivals and others!
Other exciting events will be taking place throughout the evening also. Participants can take the opportunity to meet and talk with the professionals who work in the creative sector – and discover how to develop their own career, exploring progression pathways and current opportunities available.
