Plugged In Producers Programme – paid placements (June-November 2023)

Ever wanted to host your own gig series or put on your own music festival?

We’re looking for creative and ambitious 18–25-year-olds who live in or close to North Yorkshire to fill six exciting paid roles across our Plugged in Producers team. 

Working together you’ll each play a part in creating a day long festival or event series that represents what excites you in music across North Yorkshire right now.

This scheme is built around supporting young people to get into creative careers. If you’re passionate about music, journalism, marketing, communication or education, then this programme could be for you.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY 9th JUNE at 6pm

Apply via the online form in written or video format. If for any reason you can’t access this or have a preferred format, please email teah@nymaz.org.uk who can support you to apply in a way that suits you best.
In addition to this, you can also ask questions at our Plugged In Producers Information Session. This online session will take place on Wednesday 31st May at 6-6.45pm on Zoom. Come and meet a previous participant and the NYMAZ team. We will answer any questions you have and can support with your application if needed. Programme Coordinator

Do like planning things out so you know they’ll go smoothly?
Are you could at keeping cool when people around you are busy?
You could be our Programme Coordinator

KEY QUALITIES: organised, detail orientated, good under pressure.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: organising information, coordinating people, communicating via email or phone.
ROLE SNAP SHOT: Creating schedules/timetables, booking venue, managing budgets, collaborating with your team and artists to make sure things are running on schedule, health and safety, risk assessments.


Artist Liaison and Communications Coordinator

Do you like talking to people and making them feel comfortable?
Do you love discovering new music?
You could be our Artist Liaison and Communications Coordinator!

KEY QUALITIES: people orientated, organised, empathetic.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: communication, online researching, email, understanding why inclusivity and accessibility is important, interest in live music and diverse musical styles. 
ROLE SNAP SHOT:  re searching and responding to group ideas and curating an exciting line up of musical performances, booking and contracting artists, helping things run smoothly behind the scenes, making sure performers have the best experience and that the festival is inclusive and accessible.


Tech Coordinator

Do you love technology or computers?
Do you enjoy problem solving or building things?
You could be our Tech Coordinator

KEY QUALITIES: attention to detail, curious, engineering mind
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: IT skills, interest in sound tech or equipment
ROLE SNAP SHOT: creating content to build an audience and promote the event series/or festival, making profiles on artists, getting coverage of the event itself on socials


Creative Activities Coordinator

Do you love developing new creative skills?
Do you have a passion for education and/or working with children and young people?

KEY QUALITIES: creative, friendly, innovative
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: enjoys working with young people, passionate about education or engaging community, happy to speak in front of a group. 
Role snapshot: Develop and deliver a creative activity opportunity for young people. Think about the themes of your festival or event and what session would go well with this.


Marketing and Communication Co-ordinator

Do you love getting creative on social media?
Do you like telling stories or writing about things you love?
You could be our Marketing and Communications Coordinator

KEY QUALITIES: creative, good at understanding people, resourceful
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: communication, Instagram and Tik Tok, using graphic design tools like Canva, keeps up with trending content
Role Snapshot: Create exciting content and help build an audience for the event/festival that you are hosting. Support to platform performers and tell the story of the event.


Music Journalist and Press Coordinator

Do you like journaling or writing about topics that interest you?
Do you love chatting to people and finding out what makes them tick?

KEY QUALITIES: inquisitive, sociable, organised
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: confident talking to new people, likes writing and/or podcasting/making videos, using a word processor (word, google docs) 
ROLE SNAPSHOT: Document the process and event itself in whatever format feels like it matches your skill set. This could be podcasting, writing articles or blogs or making videos. Support to raise the profile of artists performing.
